A folding metal stand for people who work on a laptop all day
A laptop is comfortable for an hour. After a full day, the low screen pulls your head forward and down, and your neck and shoulders feel it by evening. The UGREEN Metallic Foldable Laptop Stand lifts the laptop and tilts it towards you, so the screen sits closer to eye level. It folds flat when you are done, so it goes into your bag with the laptop instead of staying behind on one desk.
It is part of our laptop stands and desk accessories range, alongside the other desk accessories we carry.
What the stand does for you
Raises the screen
Office ergonomics guidance usually puts the top of the screen at or a little below eye level, so you look slightly down without bending your neck. A laptop flat on a desk puts the screen well below that. Lifting it on a stand closes much of the gap. You sit back in your chair instead of leaning over the keyboard, and you are less likely to finish the day with a stiff neck.
Adjustable angle
The angle adjusts, so you can set it for your height, your chair and your desk. A shorter user at a high desk will want a lower setting than a tall user at a low table. You can also lower it when you want to type on the laptop’s own keyboard for a short while, and raise it again when you switch to an external keyboard.
Metal build
The stand is metal rather than plastic. Metal holds its shape under the weight of a laptop and doesn’t flex while you type or tap the trackpad. It also takes knocks in a bag better than thin plastic stands, which tend to crack at the hinges after a few months of folding and unfolding.
Open design for airflow
The laptop rests on the stand’s frame rather than lying flat on the desk, so air can move underneath it. Many laptops draw in air from the bottom. When a laptop gets hot it slows itself down to protect its parts, and the fan gets louder. Better airflow helps on hot afternoons in a Nairobi office without air conditioning, or in a busy cyber where several machines run side by side.
Folds flat for your bag
When you fold it, the stand is flat enough to slide into the laptop compartment of most bags or a backpack pocket. That makes it practical for people who hot-desk, work from client sites, or split the week between home and the office.
Compatibility
The stand holds the laptop by its base, so it works with any brand, whether a MacBook, a Dell Latitude, an HP ProBook or a Lenovo ThinkPad. It suits the everyday laptop sizes most people carry. If you have a very large or very heavy machine, such as a 16 or 17 inch workstation, send us the model and we will tell you whether it is a good fit. Because it raises the laptop, you will want a separate keyboard and mouse for long sessions. Typing on a raised keyboard bends your wrists back, which defeats the point.
Setting it up
Unfold the stand on a flat surface and set the angle you want. Place the laptop in the middle of the stand and press lightly on the keyboard to check it sits steady. Plug in your keyboard and mouse, then sit back and check the screen height. If you find yourself looking up, lower it. If you are still looking well down, raise it.
Who it suits
It suits office workers, students and freelancers who spend hours on a laptop, people who join video calls often, and anyone who moves between desks. Raising the laptop also lifts the webcam, so people on a call see your face instead of looking up your nose. It is less suited to people who only use the laptop’s own keyboard and won’t add an external one, or to anyone who wants to turn the screen to show a client across the desk. For that, see the swivel stand below.
Works well with
For a full desk set-up, pair the stand with the Logitech MK470 Slim combo, which gives you a compact keyboard and mouse on one receiver. On a smaller budget, the Logitech MK270 combo does the same job. If you need a stand that rotates so you can show the screen to someone across the desk, the UGREEN Swivel Laptop Stand LP592 is the desk-based option. A wrist-rest pad such as the UGREEN LP668 finishes the set-up.

Looking after it
Wipe the stand with a dry or slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away. Keep the hinges free of grit, since sand and dust in a joint make it stiff. Fold and unfold it gently rather than forcing it. When you pack it in a bag, keep it away from the laptop screen side so the metal edges don’t press on the lid.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my laptop?
It suits most everyday laptops. For very large or heavy models, send us your model and we will check.
Do I need an external keyboard?
For long sessions, yes. Typing on a raised laptop keyboard strains your wrists.
Can I carry it around?
Yes. It folds flat and fits in a laptop bag.
Does it help the laptop stay cool?
It lets air move under the laptop, which helps compared with a laptop lying flat on a desk.
Is it plastic?
No. It is a metal stand.
Does it rotate?
No. If you need rotation, look at the UGREEN LP592 swivel stand.
