Apple MacBook Neo

Apple’s most affordable MacBook

The MacBook Neo brings macOS to a lower price than any MacBook before it. It runs the A18 Pro, the same family of chip used in recent iPhone Pro models, in a light, fanless 13 inch body. For students, first-time Mac buyers and anyone who mainly writes, browses and studies, it is the easy choice.

It sits in our MacBooks and home laptops ranges.

Which storage should you pick?

Both versions have 8GB of memory. 256GB is fine if you keep most files in iCloud, Google Drive or OneDrive. Choose 512GB if you store photos, videos or large course files on the laptop itself. Storage cannot be upgraded later, so it is worth getting this right.

Screen, battery and ports

The 13 inch Liquid Retina screen reaches 500 nits. Battery life reaches up to 16 hours of video playback, enough for a full day of lectures. You get two USB-C ports for charging and accessories, plus a headphone jack. Full specifications are on Apple’s Mac page.
