Galaxy S24 Standing Grip Case

A grip and a stand in one case, for Galaxy S24 owners who use their phone one-handed

The Galaxy S24 Standing Grip Case is Samsung’s own case for the Galaxy S24 (model EF-GS921). It protects the back and sides of the phone, and adds a strap across the back that you slide your fingers under. The strap gives you a secure hold when you are texting on a crowded matatu or taking photos with one hand, and it doubles as a stand when you want to watch a video or join a call hands-free.

It sits in our phone cases range, with other Samsung cases.

What the Standing Grip Case does

A strap for a secure hold

Samsung describes “a sturdy strap on the back” that gives you a secure hold. With your fingers under the strap, the phone stays in your hand even when you are reaching for the top of the screen with your thumb. That makes it easier to use the phone one-handed, and much less likely to slip out of your hand on a bus, at a busy market, or while you walk and talk.

A built-in stand

The same strap folds out so the phone can stand on a table. Samsung says it frees up your hands for comfortable viewing, which is handy for YouTube, Netflix, video calls on WhatsApp or Teams, or following a recipe in the kitchen. Owner reviews on Samsung’s site note that the viewing angle is fairly upright, so the stand works best on a desk or table at about eye level rather than flat on your lap.

Soft, silky finish

Samsung describes the finish as the smooth, silky texture of its silicone cases. It feels soft in the hand, is not slippery, and does not add hard edges. If you dislike the cold, hard feel of a plastic case, this is a good alternative.

Made for the S24

Because it is an official Samsung case, it is cut to the exact shape of the Galaxy S24, with openings for the camera lenses, buttons, speaker and USB-C port. Samsung gives the case dimensions as 74.0 by 150.5 by 11.6 mm and the weight as 45 grams, so it adds some bulk at the back, which is the price of the strap.

Compatibility

This case fits the Samsung Galaxy S24 only. It does not fit the Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 FE, or any Galaxy S25 or S26 model, because each has a different size and camera layout. To check your phone, open Settings, then About phone. The Galaxy S24 shows a model number starting with SM-S921.

Samsung does not list wireless charging compatibility for this case. If you use a wireless charger, take the case off to charge, or charge with a cable. If you have upgraded to a newer Galaxy, look at the Galaxy S26 and choose a case made for that model.

Setting it up

Fit the top corner of the phone into the case first, then press the rest of the phone in, working around the edges until it sits flat. To remove it, push the phone out from one of the camera-side corners. If you use a screen protector, check that its edges do not lift when the case is on.

Which colour

Samsung makes the Standing Grip Case for the Galaxy S24 in several colours, including Taupe, Light Blue and Dark Violet. The colours are listed in the product details. Tell us which one you want when you order and we will confirm it is in stock.

Who it suits

This case suits Galaxy S24 owners with smaller hands, people who use their phone one-handed on the move, commuters who stand on buses, and anyone who watches a lot of video. It is less suited to people who want the slimmest possible case, those who keep the phone in a tight jeans pocket, or anyone who charges wirelessly every night and does not want to remove the case.

How it compares

The Galaxy S24 Smart View Wallet Case covers the screen as well as the back, holds a card, and shows the time through a window when closed. For charging, the Samsung 25W PD Adapter supports Super Fast Charging on the S24. To keep track of your keys or bag from the same phone, add a Galaxy SmartTag2.

Looking after it

Silicone can pick up lint and dust in a pocket. Wipe the case with a slightly damp cloth, or take the phone out and rinse the case in water with a drop of mild soap, then let it dry completely before you put the phone back. Avoid alcohol and strong cleaners, which can dull the finish. Do not pull hard on the strap or hang heavy items from it. The strap is the part that takes the most wear.
