The everyday iPhone, now with a 120Hz screen

The Apple iPhone 17 is the standard model in Apple’s 2025 range, and the first non-Pro iPhone with a ProMotion display. The 6.3 inch screen refreshes at up to 120Hz, so scrolling and animations look smooth, and it can drop low enough to stay on as an always-on display. Peak outdoor brightness reaches 3000 nits, which keeps it readable in direct sun.

We sell the 256GB version. It sits in our iPhones range.

Performance

The A19 chip handles everyday apps, photo editing, games and Apple Intelligence features without effort. For most people that means the phone will still feel quick several years from now.

Cameras

There are two 48MP cameras on the back: a main camera and an ultra wide that also shoots macro close-ups. The main camera gives you a 2x optical-quality zoom, which works well for portraits. On the front, the 18MP Center Stage camera lets you take wider group selfies and keeps you framed on video calls without turning the phone.

SIM, network and charging

This version takes a Nano-SIM and an eSIM, so you can keep your Safaricom, Airtel or Telkom line and add a second number. It supports 5G and charges over USB-C. Apple includes a cable but no adapter, so add the Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter if you need one.

Full specifications are on Apple’s iPhone 17 page.

Other options

Want a telephoto camera and a faster chip? Look at the iPhone 17 Pro. On a tighter budget, the iPhone 17e costs less. Never lose your phone or keys again with an Apple AirTag.
