Hikvision DS-2CFS04/4G 4MP ColorVu Solar 4G Camera

CCTV where there is no power or internet

The Hikvision DS-2CFS04/4G is a 4MP camera with its own 8W solar panel, a 9000mAh battery and a 4G modem. Put a data SIM in it, mount it on a pole and it works without mains power, cabling or Wi-Fi. That makes it a practical choice for farms, construction sites, plots, boreholes and gates far from the main house.

It uses Hikvision’s AOV (always on video) mode, which keeps recording around the clock at low power instead of only waking on motion.

Night video and alerts

ColorVu with Smart Hybrid Light keeps the picture in colour up to 30m at night. Motion Detection 2.0 tells people and vehicles apart from animals and moving branches, so your phone does not fill with false alerts. Two way audio lets you warn someone off through the Hik-Connect app. Full details are on the Hikvision product page.

For sites with power and Wi-Fi, an EZVIZ CB8 Lite 4G solar kit is a lighter pan and tilt option.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a SIM card?

Yes. It needs a data SIM from a network with 4G coverage at the site, such as Safaricom or Airtel.

Does it need sunlight every day?

The battery carries it through cloudy days. Mount the panel facing open sky for the best charge.

Where are recordings stored?

On a microSD card in the camera, and you can view them live or play them back in the Hik-Connect app.
