What the cable does

Rated for up to 240W

The cable is rated at 48V and 5A, which is the top of the USB PD 3.1 standard. Older USB-C cables top out at 60W or 100W. A 60W cable slows down a laptop that wants more, and a 100W cable can’t carry the extra power that some newer laptops and power stations can use. With a 240W cable, the cable is never the weak link. The charger and the device decide the speed, and the cable carries whatever they agree on.

E-Marker chip

UGREEN fits this cable with an E-Marker chip. Any USB-C cable carrying more than 3A has to tell the charger what it can safely handle, and the E-Marker does that. Without it, a charger will hold back to a lower power level. With it, a high-power charger knows it can deliver full speed.

Charges everything with USB-C

The same cable fast-charges a USB-C iPhone, a Samsung Galaxy phone, an iPad or Android tablet, and a USB-C laptop such as a MacBook, Dell Latitude, HP ProBook or Lenovo ThinkPad. That means one cable in the bag instead of three.

USB 2.0 data

For data, the cable runs at USB 2.0 speed, up to 480 Mbps. That is fine for syncing a phone, moving documents and photos, or connecting a printer or a phone to a computer. It is not built for fast external SSDs, and it won’t carry video to a monitor. For those jobs you need a USB 3 or Thunderbolt cable.

A practical 1 metre length

One metre reaches from a wall socket to a bedside table or from a desk charger to a laptop, without a long tail to tangle in your bag.

Compatibility

The cable has USB-C plugs on both ends, so you need a USB-C charger. It works with chargers such as the Apple 20W USB-C adapter and the Samsung 25W PD adapter, as well as laptop chargers. It suits phones like the iPhone 17 and Galaxy S26, and laptops like the MacBook Air M5. It does not fit older USB-A chargers or Lightning iPhones.

Setting it up

Plug one end into a USB-C charger and the other into your device. Charging speed depends on the charger and the device. A 20W phone charger will charge a phone at 20W. A 65W laptop charger will charge a laptop at up to 65W.

Who it suits

It suits anyone with USB-C devices, especially people who charge a laptop and a phone from one charger, and offices stocking spare cables. It is not the right choice if you need fast data transfer to an SSD or a video signal to a screen.

Looking after it

Pull the plug, not the cable, when you unplug it. Avoid sharp bends right at the plug, and coil it loosely rather than wrapping it tightly round a charger. Keep the plugs dry and free of dust. If a plug feels loose or the cable gets hot, stop using it.
