HP Elite x360 830 G11 2-in-1

A 13.3 inch HP 2-in-1 for managers who work on the move

The HP Elite x360 830 G11 is HP’s compact convertible business laptop, the model many people still call the EliteBook x360 830. The screen folds all the way back, so you can use it as a normal laptop at your desk, stand it up to present, or fold it into a tablet for reading and signing documents. We stock it in one configuration: an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U on the Intel Evo platform, 32GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 13.3 inch touchscreen.

It is part of our range of business laptops.

What you get

Intel Core Ultra 7 155U

The Core Ultra 7 155U is from Intel’s first Core Ultra generation. It has 12 cores and 14 threads, boosts up to 4.8GHz and includes a built-in NPU (Intel AI Boost) that takes on background AI tasks such as video call effects without loading the main processor. For Office, Teams, browser systems and heavy multitasking, it has plenty in reserve.

32GB RAM and a 512GB SSD

Thirty-two gigabytes is double what most business laptops ship with, so dozens of tabs, large Excel files and several apps open at once are no problem. The memory is LPDDR5x soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded later, which is why buying it with 32GB from the start makes sense. The 512GB SSD keeps start-up and file opening quick.

13.3 inch touchscreen and 360 degree hinge

The 1920 x 1200 WUXGA panel has a 16:10 shape, so you see more of a page than on an older 16:9 laptop. It is a touchscreen, and the hinge lets you use the laptop in laptop, tent, stand and tablet positions. The touchscreen also works with an active pen, sold separately. Ask us before buying one so we can confirm a compatible model.

Ports

HP fits two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports that handle charging, fast data and external displays, two USB-A ports for a mouse and flash drives, a full HDMI 2.1 port for a monitor or projector, and a headset jack. One Thunderbolt cable to a dock gives you power, monitors and a wired network at your desk.

Wireless, webcam and security

Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are built in. The 5MP webcam and the Poly Studio tuned speakers and microphones make video calls clear. Security features include a fingerprint sensor, HP Wolf Security and HP Tamper Lock, which can alert IT if the case is opened.

Size and weight

HP quotes a starting weight of about 1.31kg and a footprint of roughly 30 x 21.6cm, so it fits in a small bag and is easy to carry around the office, to meetings and on flights.

Who it suits

The Elite x360 830 G11 suits directors, managers, consultants and sales staff who travel, present to clients and want a premium HP that doubles as a tablet. The 32GB of memory also suits people who keep many heavy apps open all day. If you work mostly at a desk with spreadsheets, a 15.6 inch laptop with a number pad will serve you better, and if the budget is tight, a standard clamshell business laptop costs much less.

Operating system

We install Windows 11 on it before delivery. If you would rather run a different operating system, tell us when you order.

How it compares

The HP Elite x360 830 G10 is the previous generation with a 13th Gen Intel processor, if you want the same design for less. The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is a larger 14 inch convertible with an OLED screen. For a ThinkPad alternative, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 Gen 1 gives you a 14 inch screen and a built-in pen.

Looking after it

Use a UPS or surge protector at your desk, since power cuts and surges are common in many parts of Kenya. Keep the vents clear and avoid working on a bed or cushion. If it stays plugged in most of the day, turn on HP Battery Health Manager in the BIOS to limit charging and help the battery last longer. Wipe the touchscreen with a dry microfibre cloth, and close the lid before folding it so the hinge is not strained.

Works well with

Add the HP Wireless Mouse 200 for everyday use, or the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S if you travel. The UGREEN Wireless Presenter pairs well with the tent mode for client presentations.
