HP ProBook 460 G11

A 16 inch HP business laptop with a number pad and Core Ultra processors

The HP ProBook 460 G11 is the 16 inch model in HP’s mainstream business range. It gives finance teams, managers and anyone who lives in spreadsheets a bigger 16:10 screen and a full keyboard with a number pad, while staying slim enough to carry every day. We stock four configurations: Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or Core Ultra 7 155U, each with 8GB or 16GB of RAM. All four have a 512GB SSD, a WUXGA screen, a fingerprint reader and a backlit keyboard.

It is part of our range of business laptops.

What you get

Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7

Both are 12-core, 14-thread chips from Intel’s first Core Ultra generation, with a built-in NPU for AI features in Windows and apps such as Teams. The Core Ultra 5 125U boosts up to 4.3GHz and is the sensible pick for Office, ERP and browser systems, email and video calls. The Core Ultra 7 155U boosts up to 4.8GHz and gives you more headroom for large Excel models, many open tabs and heavier multitasking. The keyboard also has a dedicated Copilot key.

RAM and storage

The ProBook 460 G11 has two DDR5 memory slots rather than soldered memory. The 8GB versions are fine for a normal office day, and you can add memory later instead of replacing the laptop. The 16GB versions suit people who run several heavy apps at once. The 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD keeps start-up and file opening fast.

16 inch WUXGA screen

The 1920 x 1200 anti-glare screen uses a 16:10 shape, so you see more rows of a ledger or report than on a typical 15.6 inch laptop. The anti-glare finish helps under bright office lights and near windows.

Keyboard with a number pad

The spill-resistant keyboard includes a full number pad and a backlight, so data entry is quicker and typing in a dim room or during a power cut is easier.

Ports for a real office

You get two USB-C ports at 20Gbps that support charging and an external display, two USB-A ports, a full HDMI 2.1 port, a wired Ethernet port and a headset jack. That means you can run a monitor, a projector, a printer and a cabled network without adapters.

Webcam, wireless and security

A 1080p webcam with a physical privacy shutter, Poly Studio speakers and dual microphones make video calls clear. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 come built in. The fingerprint reader lets you sign in to Windows quickly, and HP Wolf Security tools and a TPM 2.0 chip protect the BIOS and your data.

Size and weight

HP quotes a starting weight of about 1.75kg and a thickness of 17mm at the back. It is a desk-first laptop that is still easy to take to meetings or between branches.

Who it suits

The ProBook 460 G11 suits accounts and admin teams, banks and SACCOs, schools, NGOs and companies standardising on HP. The Core Ultra 7 16GB version suits managers and power users. If you travel every day and want something lighter, a 14 inch model such as the HP ProBook 440 G11 is easier to carry.

Operating system

We install Windows 11 on it before delivery, so it is ready to use when it arrives. If you would rather run a different operating system, tell us when you order.

How it compares

The HP ProBook 4 G1i 16 is the newer 16 inch ProBook with the next Core Ultra generation. If you want a 15.6 inch HP with a number pad and a lower price, look at the HP ProBook 450 G10. Comparing brands? The Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 1 and the Dell Latitude 5550 are the closest large-screen business alternatives.

Looking after it

Use a surge protector or a UPS where power cuts are common, and keep the vents clear by working on a hard surface rather than a bed or sofa. If it stays plugged in at your desk most of the day, the HP BIOS includes a battery health setting that limits charging so the battery lasts longer. Clean the keyboard with a soft brush and the screen with a dry microfibre cloth.

Works well with

Add the Logitech MK540 keyboard and mouse combo for a full desk setup, or the HP Wireless Mouse 200 on its own. The UGREEN Metallic Foldable Laptop Stand lifts the screen to eye level for long days at a desk.
